Georg Walter Gutter, Violin, c.1920, Markneukirchen
This violin is an example of Gutter?s G. B. Gabbrielli model, made with very attractive maple, and possessing a strong dark sound. The two-piece maple back is of varied curl. The two-piece spruce table ranges from medium to wide grain. The varnish is a reddish brown over amber gold color. Measurements: Length of Back: 356 mm, Upper Bouts: 167 mm, Middle Bouts: 113 mm, Lower Bouts: 205 mm.
