Etienne Laprevotte, Violin, 1822, Paris
Violin maker Etienne Laprevotte was from Marseilles where he began his career, and worked in Paris from 1837-1857. He was the Maker to the Duke of Bordeaux. This sweet sounding violin has a one-piece back of narrow curl. The top is of three pieces, one large center piece and two small wings. Measurements: Length of Back: 359 mm, Upper Bouts: 165 mm, Middle Bouts: 108 mm, Lower Bouts: 206 mm.
