Derazey/Grandjon School, Violin, c.1880, Mirecourt
A Stradivari model violin made by the workshop of either Derezay or Jules Grandjon in Mirecourt, c.1880. The two-piece maple back is of narrow horizontal curl. The two-piece spruce table is of medium grain broadening towards the flanks. The varnish is a shaded orange reddish brown color over yellow ground. Measurements: Length of Back: 359 mm, Upper Bouts: 169 mm, Middle Bouts: 119 mm, Lower Bouts: 209 mm.
