Charles J. B. Collin-Mezin, Violin, c.1900, Mirecourt
This violin was made by the firm of Charles J. B. Collin-Mezin, and bears the label of Emile Francais, Paris. The two-piece back is of strong medium-broad curl descending from the center joint. The two-piece spruce table is of mostly medium grain. The varnish is a reddish orange-brown over golden ground. Measurements: Length of Back: 360 mm, Upper Bouts: 168 mm, Middle Bouts: 114 mm, Lower Bouts: 207 mm.
