Burritt Miller, Violin, 1999, Philadelphia
A violin made by local maker Burritt Miller, who trained in Cremona and was a longtime alumnus of the Moennig Violin shop in Philadelphia. The two-piece maple back is of medium-broad curl descending from the center joint. The two-piece spruce table is of even medium grain. The varnish is an orange brown color over a golden ground. Measurements: Length of Back: 355 mm, Upper Bouts: 166 mm, Middle Bouts: 112 mm, Lower Bouts: 206 mm.
