Burritt Miller, Violin, 1992, Philadelphia
A Stradivarius model violin made by local maker Burritt Miller, who trained in Cremona and was a longtime alumnus of the Moennig Violin shop in Philadelphia. The one-piece maple back is of narrow curl descending from right to left. The two-piece spruce table is of fine grain broadening significantly towards the flanks. The varnish is a reddish orange brown color over a golden orange ground. Measurements: Length of Back: 358 mm, Upper Bouts: 170 mm, Middle Bouts: 112 mm, Lower Bouts: 207 mm.
