Martin, Style 5K, Ukulele, c.1930
One of the prettiest 5k ukes we’ve had. The koa is of especially choice narrow curl with a warm golden orange color. None of the pearl is loose or missing. The ebony fingerboard has a small lift at the body fret, and it’s quite possible this has had a neck reset at some point in its long history because the neck angle works very comfortably. The instrument is in excellent condition with perhaps some light French polish. There is a fine fissure in the the fingerboard in frets X-X, and the end of the XXth fret is chipped off. The original hard case accompanies this very fine instrument. Scale length 13-5/8″, nut width 1-3/8″ (almost 1-5/16″)
