Gibson, UB-2, Banjo Ukulele, c. late 1920s
A bit bedraggled when it first arrived in the shop, this UB-2 banjo ukulele has been revived and is a nice little player. The head is now an 8″ fiberskyn head. All of the hardware is original including, 12 brackets, the tailpiece, and the tuners. Some of the veneers in the rim and the resonator had separated and are now reglued-though with a separation line still showing in the veneer around the rim. The uke has its original chipboard case with purple felt lining.
