Antonio Grauso, Roundback, Mandolin, c.1891-1913, New York
A roundback mandolin with 35 rosewood staves and clasp, with light wood spacers between the staves. The top is bound with multi-ply black and white binding. The soundhole rosette is a ring of pearl decoration inset into a black band. The pickguard is inlaid with scrolling pearl designs. The headstock has a rosewood inlay and pearl bushings around the string post holes. The fingerboard is dark rosewood with pearl fret markers. needs binding repaired and setup. The tuner knobs are of bone. The bridge is missing and the binding needs to be reglued at the treble side and is mising a 2″section. No case.
