AMERICAN, Cello, early 19th century
This is a very interesting early American cello or church bass. It has a two-piece wild irregular birdseye maple back, ribs of American maple of narrow curl, and a two-piece table of slab-cut spruce or pine. It also has a late 19th century German scroll. It is unpurfled, and has a reddish-brown varnish. Requires some restoration.
