Gibson, Capital, Guitar, c.1937-38
Another fine Gibson guitar by another name; made by Gibson for the J. W. Jenkins Sons Music Co. of Kansas City; Recording King style tapered head is embelleshed with the Capital model name in white silk-screen. It?s essentially the same as a Kalamazoo KG-14. The 14-3/4″wide 14-fret L-00 style body is made with a spruce top and mahogany back and sides, with white bindings at the top and back and a striped pickguard. The top is straight-braced, The V-shaped mahogany neck has no truss rod, a rosewood finderboard with large pearl dots & a central celluloid strip. In very good plus condition; no cracks, some pickwear & scuffs, good action & frets, original but for a later saddle, recent professional neck reset. Measurements: 1-3/4″ nut, 24.9″ scale. Older hard case included.
