19-fret tenor, factory order number 9262-44, made in 1931. The 11″ rim is of 3/4″ 5-ply maple with the original oval gold Mastertone guarantee label, a 40-hole arch-top Mastertone tone-ring, 2 coordinator rods, 2-piece flange with X-pattern engraving, notched tension hoop with similar engraving, GROVER PAT ?clamshell? tailpiece, engraved armrest, outer rim of tone-ring also with X-pattern engraving; all metal parts are gold-plated; the maple-ply resonator with one-piece highly figured maple veneer with ivoroid and checker trim, finished in ?Argentine grey?. The tenor neck is of highly figured American maple, with a ?fiddle? shaped peghead with ?Gibson? in mother-of-pearl inlay; the ebony fretboard with hearts and flowers inlay pattern, checkered pattern trim around head and both sides of neck, striped heel cap, double-ring gold-plated GROVER PAT tuners with mother-of-pearl buttons. It is completely original in all of its parts, including its original hard case (in fair condition), and with its original Jos. B. Rogers Jr. skin head, and is in an overall excellent state of preservation. We have never seen such a pure, time-capsule TB-6 before. This exceptional example has all of its correct parts, clean finish, attractive resonator wood, and very clean engraved metal parts.
