A Blue Ribbon Style A tenor banjo with an 11-1/2″ maple rim setup with an original or period skin head. The rim is natural in color on the exterior and partially stained black on the interior. The tone ring is perforated through the exterior. The hardware is nickel-plated with 28 brackets. The two-piece maple neck is lightly figured, with ebonized veneers and backstrap. The fingerboard is rosewood with various simple inlays and an ebonized peghead overlay with inlaid abalone script “Bacon Blue Ribbon.” The neck is straight neck with good frets – showing some fingerboard wear at the 2, 3, and 4th string positions. The push on spun maple resonator carries a nickel medallion engraved “The Bacon”. Excellent condition and in the original hard case. The scale is 22, Nut width is 1-1/8″.
