18. MARTIN, 0-18, 1922, 12-fret, slotted-head, the slightly larger 13-3/4" body seen on many '20s size-0 Martins, 2 tone-bars, V-shaped neck with ebony board & original bar frets, 1-7/8"width at nut; straight ebony bridge (non-pyramid), great wide-grained Adirondack top with no cracks, the treble side has a long crack which is solidly repaired-glued with large studs-but somewhat unsightly; good neck angle & frets, plays easily & sounds great (quite big-sounding for an 0-size), , (Our #30766) $4,000.
19. MARTIN, 0-18, late 1922, 12-fret slotted-head, made with no pickguard, nut width is a hair shy of 1-7/8", original bar frets, ebony pyramid bridge, a long repaired crack around the center of the lower bass side - very slightly uneven in one area but not unsightly and quite secure, it has had an older good neck reset & plays well with standard light gauge strings, overall original, very good plus condition, new hard case, very light and responsive, it gives plenty of personal satisfaction to sit with but has plenty of presence for others to enjoy as well, (Our #28678) $3,950.
20. MARTIN, 0-18K, 1934, 12-fret neck with slotted head, highly figured koa back & sides, ebony belly bridge, tortoise-color pickguard, nicely converted from Hawaiian (neck reset, slightly radiused ebony board with original bar frets), replaced maple bridge-plate, otherwise original & in overall excellent condition, original soft case, no cracks but it has a small break or ding on the upper treble side (very typically found on Hawaiian guitars-the steel falls out of the case pocket when the case is turned upright & falls onto the upper rib of the guitar), (Our #31355) $5,000.
21. MARTIN, 0-21, 1917, 12-fret neck with slotted-head; figured Brazilian rosewood back and sides, new period style & size rectagular ebony bridge, neck reset, nice replacement ebony fingerboard with a slight radius & new T-frets, 1-7/8"width at nut; finish has had a light French polish & some retouch just below bridge covering an area from previous slightly larger bridge; head and neck showing over-finish with no brand stamp (either obliterated or simply absent), tuners replaced with period-style Stew-Mac Golden Age; repaired crack just along bass side of fingerboard, glued back crack & side crack, overall very good condition, new hard case, 2-3/8" string spacing at the bridge, a good solid 0-21 with a few old issues made into a great player & suitable for standard light strings, (Our #29685) $4,500.

MARTIN, 0-21, 1924, 12-fret, slotted head, ebony pyramid bridge, ebony fingerboard with slotted sqaures, herringbone trim around soundhole & down center of back, some finger & pickwear to the surface, repaired 8" crack running up from the lower binding to left of bridge, no other cracks, V-shaped neck with nut width just shy of 1-7/8", completely original, recently done professional neck reset, overall very good plus condition, new hard case, , (Our #28188) $6,500.
23. MARTIN, 0-21, 1947, 12-fret neck with slotted-head, ebony fingerboard & bridge, Brazilian rosewood back & sides, herringbone center back-strip, good reproduction tuners from Willi Henkes, otherwise original, neck reset & fretwork by Strunk, some capo wear on lower peghead, overall excellent condition, new hard case, a very rare 12- fret slotted-head 0-21 (apparently there were 48 made that year, though strangely we've never seen one), (Our #29568) $7,000.

MARTIN, 0-28, 1887, From the collection of Mike Seeger; signed inside under the top "Jan, 1887," solid peghead with later planet pegs with cream colored buttons, in overall good condition, 24.9"scale, 1-7/8"nut width; with rounded V-shaped Cedar neck,length of back 19-1/8", old repaired top cracks, new hard case; strung with extra-lights, Mike played this guitar on track 13 "New River Train" on the CD he recorded with Paul Brown in 1996 - Way Down in North Carolina, (Our #30263) $4,000.

MARTIN, 1-26, c.1870s, 12-fret V-shaped cedar neck with slotted head, X-braced; lower bout 12-7/8", length of back 18-7/8", scale 24.9", nut width 1- 13/16"; Style-28 zig zag style backstrip and soundhole, colored wood marquetry around the top, nicely replaced ebony pyramid bridge of correct size but incorrect style pyramids, bound fingerboard and peghead, engraved brass tuner plates with bone buttons, in overall good very condition, hard case, an interesting & very attractive Style 26 variant with Style 28 appointments, Style 27 marquetry, as well as a bound fingerbaord & peghead; from the collection of Mike Seeger, (Our #30262) $7,000.

MARTIN, 2-20, c.1870, with both C.F.MARTIN/NEW YORK and C.F.MARTIN & CO./ NEW YORK brands, rosewood back and sides, rosewood top & back bindings, 12-fret cedar neck with French heel and slotted head, ebony fingerboard with no inlays, ebony pyramid bridge, original bar frets, "A" brace with one diagonal below bridge, old repairs include reinforced top cracks, probably had a neck reset (though action is still a little bit high), a coating of finish over the neck, top and a bit on the back and sides, really nice original tuners with engraved brass plates, new hard case; being sold as-is, , (Our #30919) $2,000.

MARTIN, 5-18, 1948, spruce top with natural finish, mahogany back and sides, 1-9/16" nut and 21-7/16" scale, completely original, good frets & neck angle, the top with some light lacquer checks & belt-buckle wear on the back, otherwise very good plus condition, a very sweet 5-18 in overall nice shape, (Our #31360) $2,750.
30. MARTIN, D-18, 1941, the neck with decent older refinish & refret, ebony fingerboard, new ebony bridge of correct style but very slightly larger (about 1/16" oversize), recent neck reset & refret by Dave Strunk, top finish has been oversprayed & is now looking a bit dull, original pickguard beautifully inscribed in script "Ozark Glenn"; new hard case, very fine sounding for both fingerpicking & flatpicking, , (Our #28333) $14,500.
